"If you sent someone to interview your main character - how would that go?"

Well, allow me to present you with the interview Q&As between the author and the MC. Enjoy!

Me: Good morning Ava! It's great to get to finally sit down and have a discussion with you, face-to-face!

  • Ava: Ha! It is definitely exciting to get to meet my creator! I'm not sure that I enjoyed the entire story, but I must say that I'm thrilled to get to be a part of your book!

Me: *nervous laughter* well then, how about we just dive on in? What was it like living in Nora's Homestead?

  • Ava: Honestly, it wasn't too terrible. Yes, we had chores to do on a daily basis, but it was the life we knew. Had we grown up in another world with a loving family and loads of money, I'm sure we would have viewed that life as a negative thing. We had food in our bellies, a roof over our heads, and although we didn't have parents, we did have each other to lean on in rough times. Knowing that we were never alone was a huge help while living there.

Me: It didn't sound like a very nice place to live, but I'm glad you saw the silver lining. How many of you were there in the orphanage?

  • Ava: There were a total of twenty-seven people in the orphanage. Twenty orphans; nine boys and eleven girls, as well as the staff and Nora herself.

Me: Sounds like a crowded living space. Aside from chasing monsters and playing super heroes, what kinds of things did you and Jett do when you were little?

  • Ava: Hmmm... we did a lot of running around. When there were visitors at the orphanage we got to play in the backyard which was a nice turn of events. We were super excited to find our hiding place because it became a getaway for us. We would spend a lot of time there laying under the stars and talking, or laughing and joking. Sometimes we would just lay there in silence and take in the noises of the woods; very relaxing.

Me: I know you had some fun times with him, the readers fell in love with him because of it. After losing him, what was it like to have your best friend return from the dead?

  • Ava: It was surreal. Seeing him there, being able to physically touch him after all those years of him being gone. At first I thought it was a hallucination, then after I heard his voice, it was a reassurance that he was okay. Until I found out the truth later in the story of course.

Me: Yes, the terrible truth behind Jett; which we won't give away! What was your view on the relationship that Kaycie had with Ethan?

  • Ava: Kaycie always did her own thing, so it wasn't anything new for her to bring home a new guy. The only thing that had me a little concerned was the fact that he came out of nowhere and had all this money to shower her with. It was a red flag, but there were no other signs showing that he was doing anything wrong or anything to harm us in any way. How do you accuse someone of something when you don't know what that something is?

Me: I'm sure it was difficult to understand when you were plastered at the club, haha! When you found out who Ethan was, did it make you want to hurt him?

  • Ava: I wanted to slit his throat right then and there. Nobody screws with my best friend.

Me: What was running through your mind when you were strapped to the surgical table?

  • Ava: The worst part of it wasn't the fact that I was strapped to it; it was watching Hank touch Kaycie and Demo. If I could have gotten myself out of those restraints, there would have been a quicker ending to that story.

Me: Ha! I'm glad I have control of what happens then! Have to keep the readers excited for the upcoming events! When you were looking at the clones and soon-to-be clones in the other room, did you have the thought of wanting to take them all home in that moment?

  • Ava: No. Honestly in that moment, I was more worried about getting myself and my friends to safety. Did I want to help them? Absolutely, but I wasn't even sure that the three of us were going to make it out alive.

Me: I sure did put you three through some rough patches.

  • Ava: Yes, but I knew you would get us all out of it alive... or at least I was hoping so hahaha

Me: Is there anything you would have changed, aside from the ending?

  • Ava: Well, maybe I would have changed the sex scene, or at least have him understand what was happening so it didn't feel like I was taking his virginity! Thank you for that awkward moment in my life.

Me: Well, you do have to admit that was pretty funny!!

  • Ava: Oh yes. A hoot. Hahaha

Unfortunately that was all the time Ava had to chat, but hopefully we can catch another MC in the near future!

Check back soon to get a glimpse of the steps that I'm taking to have my book completed (start to finish) in three months!

Toodles.
